Mary Robin Baziak, CPA

Career Journey

◭ Mary Robin began her accounting career in 1997 in the Orange County (OC) office of KPMG, LLP. She started in the personal financial planning practice, working with high net worth individuals, athletes, and entertainers. After five years, Mary Robin transitioned to the KPMG, LLP Real Estate Group, focusing on real estate-related businesses. In 2006 Mary Robin helped open the OC location of HCVT, LLP where she built on her real estate and high net worth individual expertise by branching out to private equity clients. Over the years, she has also been very active in the restaurant space.

Baziak & Company CPAs, Inc.

◭ After over a decade working for large accounting firms, she struck out on her own in 2011 and opened Baziak & Company CPAs, Inc. in an effort to more closely manage her relationship with clients.

Accountable

◭ Listening to so many of her tax clients looking for a trusted, efficient, and service-oriented solution to their bookkeeping needs, she co-founded Accountable in 2024 in order to efficiently grow her existing accounting business.

Robert Ristau, CFA

Career Journey

◭  Rob has spent the last 20 years working in the financial services industry as an investor at two large New York-based asset managers. His focus has been on business service companies.

Entrepreneurial Venture With Accountable

◭ Through the evaluation of hundreds of publicly traded companies, he became intently focused on business process (his own and the companies in which he invested). A common thread of durable businesses is prioritizing client and employee satisfaction and he wanted to help create an organization that would do just that.

◭ After speaking to his sister Mary Robin about her clients’ shortfalls with traditional bookkeeper services, he co-founded Accountable to scale Mary Robin’s existing business, building best-of-breed IT and HR infrastructure to help ensure customer success.

Heidi Ristau, MBA

Career Journey

◭ After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley and later the USC Marshall School of Business, Heidi has spent her career in various roles within large organizations.

◭ She has helped Mary Robin grow her accounting business over the last several years and had a desire to co-found Accountable in order to build on their joint success.
